The Tsum Valley, also known as the Hidden Valley – a land of monasteries and hamlets with totally Tibetan population – lies on the northern part of Manaslu on the Nepal-Tibet border and used to be a restricted area until 2008. Although the region lies within Nepal, the Buddhism influenced region is a world of its own. Traditionally, Tsum used to be a separate area different from both Nepal and Tibet. The Tsum Valley region is still less exposed in comparison to other tourist areas, with relatively virgin and less beaten paths in comparison to the more popular regions. The Tsum people have their own way of family life, which may be quite surprising for many outsiders. All the brothers in the family are married to a single girl, what you may call a practice of polyandry. Compared with other areas, The Tsum Valley and Manaslu area is full of imminent mountains, passes, deep gorges, hamlets, gompas, chortens, and mani walls.

Day 03 :Drive From Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar (535m).
Day 04 :Trek Arughat to Soti Khola(710m).
Day 05 :Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola (930m).
Day 06 :Trek from Machha Khola to Doban (1070m).
Day 07 :Trek from Doban to Philim (1650 m).
Day 08 :Trek from Philim to Chumling (Lower Tsum)(2361m).
Day 09 :Trek from Chumling to Chhokangparo (Upper Tsum) (3010m).
Day 10 :Trek from Chhokangparo to Nile/Chhule via Milarepa Piren Phu Cave.
Day 11 :Trek from Nile/Chhule to Mu Gompa,via Dhephyudonma Gompa.
Day 12 :Trek from Mu Gompa to Rachen Gompa, visit Gonhgye Gompa.
Day 13 :Trek from Rachen Gompa (3240m) to Dumje (2440m).
Day 14 :Trek from Dumje to Philim (1650 m).
Day 15 :Trek from Philim to Tatopani.
Day 16 :Trek from Tatopani to Soti Khola (720m).
Day 17 :Trek from Soti Khola to Arughat Bazar (535m).
Day 18 :Drive from Arughat to Kathmandu

My girlfriend and I just came back from the Ghorepani Trek (Poon Hill) that we did in 4 days (it can be difficult for people who are not in good shape since two of these days are 15 KM/7.5 hours walk per day without speaking of the ascent).
A great experience from the beginning! We looked for some thing off the beaten path and the Model Trek was it. We saw no fellow tourists during our camping portion of the trip ! Just locals Our guide, cook and porters were very good and friendly.
It was a truly great experience. 14 days of pure joy despite some cloudy days (monsoon…). The views from the Thorung La pass (5416m) were just incredible, and some of the villages on the route were magnificent (most notably Upper Pisang and Kagbeni)
